GOH is seeking an entry-level Event Assistant (EA) to assist with the execution of all sizes and types of federal meetings and events. You should be extremely detail oriented and diligent in assuring the quality of all work products. You must also be comfortable manipulating MS Excel spreadsheets and learning new technologies.

Job Division: Event Logistics and Peer Review

Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required

Experience: At least 5 years of experience directly relevant to the position

Location: Arlington, VA and Washington, DC

Essential Functions: Provide administrative and logistical support in the execution of meetings and events with 50-500+ participants. Manage registrations, assist with developing meeting materials, serve as the customer service POC for all attendees and travelers, assist with coordinating travel reservations, provide on-site support which may require overnight travel for 3-6 days up to 10 times per year, data entry and reporting, document printing and production.

Specific areas of expertise and experience include: 

  • Experience with event management and mobile application software, such as Cvent, a plus
  • Must be extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Strong customer service, written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced team setting
  • Web-based data entry and reporting
  • MS Office Suite – (Excel, Outlook, and Word proficiency)
  • Typing speed of 45 WPM or above
  • Effective collaboration and communication with team members
  • May be required to travel for 3-5 days up to 10 times per year
